About WRO
World Robot Olympiad Association™ is an independent non-profit organization. All revenue from sponsorships and fees is invested in support of our mission, which is to promote robotics in STEM education worldwide.
First held in 2004 in Singapore, it now attracts more than 28,000 teams from more than 85 countries. In 2022, the WRO International Final was held in Dortmund, Germany.
The WRO® theme for 2022 is My Robot My Friend.
The combination of robotics and artificial intelligence can change the world and especially the environment of humans.
My experience
I got the honour to represent Romania at the WRO International Final 2022 in the Future Innovators/Junior age group category, where i got 5th place.
In the 3 days that I participated at the WRO 2022 International Final I was amazed with the innovation being made by teens all around the world and how we all were able to leave out differences aside and all work with a greater goal in mind.
One of the key aspects of the competition was meeting new people. It was interesting seeing how kids from countries where there is a lot of focus on the STEM field work and also getting to know them.
At the end of the 3 days i left with the experience of meeting the next generation of adults that will shape the world, a generation I am happy to be a part of.
